Winding Vista PoolThe Winding Vista Pool Complex is a wonderful place to rest and relax throughout the summer.  In order to ensure our members and guests have both a safe and execiting time, we ask that everyone review the following three items:

  1. Familes with children who wish to swim in the pool must submit a Medical Authorization Form to the Winding Vista Swim & Tennis Pool Manager.
  2. All users of the pool and its facilities must follow the Pool Rules and Regulations in order to use the pool.
  3. During the summer season, the Pool Complex is open for the majority of the day, however open and close times do differ based on the day of the week.  The Pool Schedule contains all of the details.

Key Notes from the Pool Manager

As your families continue to enjoy the pool this summer, please keep the following in mind from our Pool Manager:

There will be several changes at the Winding Vista pool in 2011 due largely to feedback from members.  The board is trying to be responsive to member concerns and has given your pool manager latitude to make the changes requested.

*The first change is that the pool will be open until 10:00pm on Friday and Saturday nights through the first weekend in August.
*The next change is the planning ahead to have the pool open during school days for families whose children are not yet school age.  When life guards are hired, this will be a consideration.
*Another change for 2011 is the addition of Friday afternoon hours after Labor Day.
*With the increase in pool utilization over the last three years it has become necessary to keep the second life guard later into the evening.  This summer there will be two life guards on duty until 7:00 until the Fourth of July and on weekends until Dekalb County schools begin.   During July and the first week of August the second life guard will stay until 6:00 on week nights.
*Even though the pool will be open until 9:00 every weeknight, there will be a change in how late children can swim.  The last adult swim will be called at 8:30 on Monday through Thursday.  At that time a lap swim will begin.  This will allow members who want to swim for fitness to do so without worrying about running into small children.
*Pasta at the Pool will return next year as a weekly event on Fridays from the end of May through the 1st Friday in August.  Pasta at the Pool is a catered meal for the whole community to enjoy.  Why cook when you can play with your children at the pool?  My vision is for the pool to become a Friday evening haven for the work-weary.   More details on this to come out closer to the swim season.
*Movie night will return this spring with two more fun films for the whole family.  They are tentatively scheduled for April 29th and May 13th.  Movie night is for all Winding Vista families and friends.  Watch the website closer to those dates to see which movies are going to be playing.  Rumor is May 13th will be “Jaws”.  Both nights are before the pool opens on May 20th.
*The pool will open for the season on May 20th with an ice cream social for the kids.
*One thing that will not change in 2011 is the water aerobics class taught by Diane Hutchison offered to the membership on Tuesdays and Fridays at noon.
*If you liked last summer’s pool parties, you will happy to hear the social chairwomen will be the same as last year. I am looking forward to more fun and wild evenings.  The family night on June 24th will feature a live band.  Save that date!

As always, look to the Winding Vista Event Calendar to see what is happening at the pool.

Please review these and other notes on the Pool Manager Notes page.

Pool Reminders

A sign in sheet will be at the entrance of the pool - please sign in and list any guests. A box will be available for the collection of the guest fee ($3.00 per person, $10.00 maximum per guest family). The lifeguards have also been asked by the Winding Vista Board to check memberships and ask members to sign in their guests and pay the applicable guest fee. We would like to ask that you not get upset at the lifeguards if they come up to you. Please respect that they have been asked by us to do this as a way to help alleviate the pool being used by non-members.

Adult swim will take place the last 15 minutes of each hour. Children 3 years and under will be allowed in the pool with their parents. The lifeguards will ask your children to exit the pool if they are over 3 years old. Parents MUST by in the pool with their children - you may not watch from the sidelines.

The toddler pool is for use by children 5 years and under - please do not have your older children use this as a "play area" during Adult Swim.

If you are interested in swimming laps and the lap pool is being used by swimmers, please ask the lifeguard to try and keep this lane cleared.

If your child is not yet potty trained and wears swim diapers, please remember that you must also have rubber swim pants over the swim diaper. They can be purchased at Wal-Mart and the Concession Stand will also have them available for purchase.

Pool Parties

The Winding Vista Swim & Tennis pool complex provides two pavilions that are perfect for birthday parties and other social activities.  If you are interested in having a party at the pool, please contact the Pool Manager at least 2 weeks prior to your requested date and time.
