Please join us in welcoming back Coach Ross Phillips and welcoming two new assistant coaches. Chris Hulsey is a senior at Lakeside and is the captain of the swim team. Nicole Bullard is a familiar face! She has been a member of the WV swim team for years and has served as a volunteer helper with the younger swimmers. We are so excited to have their experience and enthusiasm! Coach Ross can be contacted at

Seasonal Swim Team Membership |
Please take the time to review Winding Vista's policy regarding Seasonal Swim Team Membership: If the swim team cannot fill their seasonal roster in various age groups in order to support up to 2 relay teams with full members, they may institute the Seasonal Swim Team Membership to provide access to non-full member swimmers to attend team practices and meets. This Seasonal Swim Team Membership is available for $50 per person in addition to the stated swim team fee for the swim team season. The person must reside outside of the membership area and must be sponsored by a member. There will be a maximum of 4 such persons per age group in which need is demonstrated as evidenced by inability to field a relay team in said age group. Swim team coordinators will submit an application with payment for a non-full member swimmer to the Membership Chairperson for approval. The swimmer will not be eligible to swim until payments are made. |

The Winding Vista Swim Team has brought two fantastic activities together and is offering them to you at once, Internet shopping and supporting our young swimming stars. Working with the Internet company iGive.com, the Winding Vista Swim Team will receive a percentage (up to 26%) of the sale of items purchased through the iGive.com site by members. All you have to do is register, indicate you are supporting the Vipers and begin shopping at over 700 popular online stores (including eBay, Best Buy, Home Depot, Barnes & Noble and Lands' End). In addition to raising money for the Swim Team, as a member of iGive.com you will be offered exclusive coupons and other money saving deals at stores around the Internet.

Believe it or not, we're already starting plans for summer 2010 swim team! Please find the registration form and informational flyer below. Some extra information not included on either of those attachments:
- We have a few non-meet volunteer spots to fill before the season begins: doughnut picker-upper, treasurer, and spirit leader.
- DeKalb County swim meet (for which EVERYONE is eligible) is July 1-2. Mark your calendars now! We'll help you work out transportation/logistics if you need since these are work days.
To keep our costs down and still maintain our high quality coaches, we are expanding our fundraising efforts. We are seeking community support through sponsorship opportunities with the swim team. We hope to do this by including logos on shirts in exchange for a donation, having local restaurants host spirit nights, and acquiring donations of food or cash for concessions for home meets, movie nights, the swim-a-thon, and our new "overnight camp at the pool" on July 6th. If you have a local business, a favorite vendor, or other contacts we should consider, please let us know. For questions or more information contact Connie Mathis at
