Join us for the next movie night!
May 11: “Toy Story I” followed by “Jaws”
A life guard has been scheduled so the shallow end of the pool will be open from 7:00 until the first movie ends.
Admission has been set at $3 per person with a $10 family limit.
The concession stand will be open along with freshly popped popcorn.
Volunteers are needed to make these evenings successful. Positions include admission takers, playground monitors, concession stand workers, someone to help set up, a couple people to help clean up, and someone to make the popcorn. If you are interested in helping please email me at

Finally, please invite your neighbors and friends. It doesn’t matter if they are members of not. These evenings are open to everyone. They are a fund raiser for the Viper swim team, but it is NOT a swim team only event.

We're busy gearing up for an exciting 2012 season at Winding Vista!
Things to know
-
The water bill to fill the pool last January was $1900. If glass gets into the pool it has to be drained and cleaned. The total estimated cost to do this is $3000. This includes the cost of the water, labor, and chemicals. That expense is NOT in the budget.
-
Swim lessons will be taught in the lap lane from 4:00 until 6:45 Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.
-
The sign-in sheet is important! The pool manager uses attendance information to schedule life guards for the next season. Matching guard hours to attendance allows the club to keep expenses down. If there is an incident at the pool and you have not signed in, we may not be able to resolve any issues that might arise. If you do not sign your guests in, we will not be able to resolve any issues that may arise with them.
- The Winding Vista Vipers swim team is an opportunity for all youth ages 4 through 18. They work hard, have a LOT of fun (& doughnuts) and represent our community very well. Registration is due before May 1.
- Sundays through Thursdays the pool will be open until 9:00 p.m. with the last 30 minutes a lap swim. Only lap swimmers allowed in the water from 8:30 until 9:00 p.m. This will allow members who want to swim for fitness to do so without worrying about running into small children.
- The pool will be open until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights through August 11.
- Beginning August 13, the pool will be open at 11:00 a.m. Sunday through Friday.
- Swim Lessons will be taught this summer by Stephanie Spencer, member, swim team coach, and first grade teacher.
- Pasta at the Pool will return next year on Fridays from May 25 through June 29. Pasta at the Pool is a meal catered by Jerry’s Famous Catering for the whole community to enjoy. Why cook when you can play with your children at the pool?
- Movie nights will return this spring with two more fun nights of films for the whole family. They are tentatively scheduled for April 27 and May 11. Movie night is for all Winding Vista families and friends. This year we will be having double features. An early show for the young children followed by one aimed for all audiences. Both nights are before the pool opens on May 24.
- The pool will open for the season on May 24 at 4:00 p.m. with an ice cream social for the kids.
- One thing that will not change in 2012 is the Water Aerobics class with Diane Hutchison offered to the membership on Tuesdays and Fridays at noon.
- I am looking forward to more fun and wild social events. One of the highlights of the summer is the Fourth of July activities. This year I WILL win the splash contest.
As always, look to the Winding Vista Event Calendar to see hours of operation and what is happening at the pool.
